Childcare Options

Most likely you'll either need sole charge child care, or simply some help with the children near or with them. We can help with either option, as well as those occasions where you need short term emergency care.

A Mother's Help will either hold a childcare qualification or have a minimum of 1 years childcare experience.

Our nannies are professional, qualified and experienced, with the commitment and skills to provide, a safe, loving and stimulating environment for your child.

Mothers Help

Nanny

Mother’s Helps are employed to help look after the children for you, perform light household duties and work closely under your supervision. Essentially they are an extra pair of hands for you and can play an essential role in taking the pressure off you and providing you with more time to enjoy your family life.

A Mother's help would typically work less hours than a nanny. An average day would be from 8.45 to 5pm, this is usually worked on a full-time, live-out or live-in basis.

As the employer of your Mother’s Help, you are responsible for their tax and national insurance contributions on top of the net amount they take home. Please click on essential information above for more details.

Mother’s Helps are usually paid a lower salary than a Nanny, due to the fact that they play a supporting role and usually have less experience and fewer childcare skills than a Nanny.

A Nanny is responsible for feeding, washing, clothing, educating and stimulating children. The Nanny should also plan activities that enhance learning and development. Nannies are not responsible for general housework, although they should clear up after the children (and themselves!).

Many parents are now looking for part-time nannies. The option is available to employ a nanny on a part-time basis, as a nanny will often work for more than one family. An average day for a nanny is 8am to 6pm, although many nannies do work a 12 hour day.
